Maricela (Mari) is a devoted mother and partner, and community member. She has a 12-year-old daughter. She has a dog named Oso and 2 cats, Tom Cat and Kitty. A committed vegan, Mari finds joy and peace in her garden, especially in the sunflowers she grows in her backyard. Her lifestyle shows her deep respect for life and the world around her. Mari recently became a birth and postpartum doula, offering care, guidance, and compassion to mothers and families as they navigate one of life’s most meaningful journeys.

Just a week after her arrest, her father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and Mari’s greatest hope is to be by his side, caring for him during this critical time.
